The iTero digital scanning and impression system utilizes computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology to record detailed images of your teeth and oral structures. Together, the digital images create a 3D model of your bite, which can be used to digitally plan and create your custom clear aligners. The scanner is safe, comfortable, and offers enhanced precision when determining the best way to correct your bite’s alignment.
How does it make Invisalign® easier?
The goal of Invisalign® is to straighten your teeth to optimize your bite function. iTero scanning makes that easier by allowing your dentist to digitally analyze the extent of your malocclusion, gauge the most efficient path of movement to correct them, and design your series of aligners to carefully guide your teeth through that specific path. Because the images are all taken digitally, there is no need to place messy physical molding material over your teeth to create your mold.
What are the benefits of iTero?
Eliminating the need for a messy mold is beneficial in several ways.
